The In-Home Behavioral Therapistassistsservicerecipients attain the goalsofthe individual care plan and sustain positive behavioral changes and improvements in functionality and quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates support of all outcomes for service recipients supported.(Identify, Autonomy, Affiliation, Attainment, Safeguards, Rights, and Health and Wellness.
For Professional/Clinicallevel: Inaccordance withapplicableIndividualCare Plans,anyBehaviorAssistance/IntensiveIn-Community evaluations,andotherreports,provideinterventionsincluding,butnotlimitedto:
Clinical consultation/assessment
Counseling
Group, individual,or familytherapy
Anger management
Parenting skilldevelopment
Problemsolvingandskilldevelopment
Stress reductiontechniques
Symptomreduction
Adaptiveandcopingskills; and
Psycho-educational instruction relatedto mentalhealth, including but not limited to, improved decision-making to manage behavior and reduce risk behaviors.
For Supportive level:In accordance with applicable Individual Care Plans, any Behavior Assistance/Intensive In-Community evaluations, and other reports, provide interventions, including, but not limited to:
Instruction in anger management skills
Parenting skilldevelopment
Instruction instressreductiontechniques
Problem solving skilldevelopment
Psycho-educational services related to mental health including, but not limited, to improved decision making skills to manage behavior and reduce risk behavior
Referralto othernecessary servicesandsupports
Any directcare providermaynotprovide interventions requiring skills, experience, credentials and licensure other than those allowed under the appropriate licensing regulations
Maintain flexibility in clinical modalities and apply according to client’s needs and abilities. Use of play, art, music techniques can be provided if indicated
Listen to and respond to the needs of service recipients, parents/guardians, area program staff, and agency management
Document all activities in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements
Transport service recipients as needed and clinical indicated
Complete all mandated supervision and training and maintain as required
Communicate in a professional manner with service recipients, employers, parents/guardians, area program staff, and agency staff
Demonstrates the ability to beflexible,reliable,and dependable
Performsother duties asassigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’sor Master’sDegreein arelatedfield,such as social work, psychology, counseling, etc. Must be licensed in the state thatthe caregiverwillbeworkingandintheappropriatefield
Must be 21 yearsof age orolderandhave no history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children or vulnerable adults. At least one year of documented relevant experience with children and families with mental health needs.
Reliable transportation(includingvaliddriver’slicense,insurance,vehicleregistration,and acceptable drivingrecordwithincompany insurance guidelines) is highly preferred so service recipients can be transported if needed. Must complete criminal background and other pre-hire requirements.
